Dominique’s vignette sessions have been in the works for a few months and I have been excited ever since our first emails. Dominique is a writer and her first young adult novel will be coming out next year.
I love how she has the same addiction to music that I do. I love how she’s a marathon runner (something I could only dream of doing). And I love how she gets inspired by the beauty around her – “There is nothing like a winter morning when the world is still and snow is softly falling or the smell of honeysuckle on a hot summer night with the crickets chirping in the background.” Isnt’ that just magical?
Anyways, when we finally met on the morning of her shoot, I felt like we had been friends for ages. I enjoyed myself so much I had to remind myself to keep taking pictures instead of talking. Thanks Dominique, for being so awesome!

This morning I had a wonderful session with Dominique. I don’t want to spoil the fun and tell you about her until I finish her full post next week, but isn’t she beautiful? I love her long blond hair and bright eyes.
Also, I am SO BEHIND on getting pictures up of my many adventures. If I remember correctly, I still haven’t done a full post from when I went to San Diego. Someone please get on my case and tell me to get those up! I think part of the reason it’s taken me a while is that I’m experimenting with HDR photography and it takes longer to prepare the images, plus there’s a learning curve in how to make the images look good. Anyways, here’s an HDR image from my Route 66 detour a couple weeks ago and one from my Memorial Day weekend vacation up in Eden, UT.
As for me, I’m heading to Moab first thing tomorrow morning. More HDR pictures to come!

I loved photographing Stephanie. Besides the fact that her red hair is killer and she looks like a porcelain doll, she was so natural in front of the camera. I could have photographed her for hours. As it is, I could hardly narrow down her images to these 45. Yes, you heard me right. 45 images of Stephanie right here!
I met Stephanie at church when I was in LA. LA is quite a big city, so it’s not the easiest to make friends. Right away, Stephanie invited me to go kayaking with her roommates and their friends (I have to add that I went rollerblading and hung out with her roommates on other occasions as well – awesome girls). All I can say is, she is as nice as she is beautiful and smart. She’s either going to go to dental hygienist school or nursing school, both amazing professions. Some might ask, why not go into modeling? ;)

Lyndi is one of those people who can make you laugh and smile just by being with her. She is genuine, honest, and sincere. Plus, her laugh is seriously contagious! I was so excited to photograph Lyndi and had been looking forward to our session for months.
Lyndi is an Entrepreneurial Prosperity Coach and she loves it! She’s also passionate about photography, learning, and cooking. She says that good people inspire her, meaning people who do what’s right despite being faced with the worst of circumstances. I believe Lyndi is one of those people :) Thanks Lyndi for being so fun!

As you have guessed by the fact that I haven’t had a real post in over a week….I am swamped. I’m buried in editing, designing albums, working on a portrait website, and shooting. To give you a glimpse into the posts that I’ll have up sometime next week, here are 3 images.
The first is Olivia. I did her headshots this morning in Santa Monica. She has killer eyes!
The second image is from a day trip I took down to San Diego on Tuesday to La Jolla Beach (I’m hoping to get some HDR images from the caves down there).
And this third image is from a documentary called Guerrilla Gardening that I shot film stills for this last Sunday.

Ashley was so much fun to photograph. Even though we had to be creative and do 90% of the session indoors because of cold rain, she was up for anything! I love her funky, flirty style. She loves everything vintage and wants to own her own Bed & Breakfast someday. Doesn’t that sound dreamy? One of her hobbies is rearranging furniture, which I love because I HAVE to rearrange my room every 3-4 months or I go crazy and it’s good to know I’m not the only one out there who’s like me :)
She definitely knows how to love life and live it up. Thanks for having me photograph you, darling Ash.

Don’t you just LOVE Sarah’s last name? And that’s just it, she really is a joy to be around. Sarah is genuine, thoughtful, smart, and endearing. Being around her is relaxing and enjoyable!
Let me tell you a little bit about her.
She has lived in many places, including New York and Montana (and Salt Lake, of course)
She loves cooking, gardening, and animals, including small creatures around her home ;)
She is clever and open minded.
Her favorite indulgence is brownies a la mode.

Laurie gave me a call last week wanting to get some fun, natural photos of herself for her match.com profile. The ones she has on there now are too posed and don’t really show the real Laurie. I knew that we could get some amazing shots just by the great conversation we had on the phone. Let me tell you a little bit about her:
She is currently a nurse, but her dream job is to be a landscape architect.
She is playful, creative, and adventurous (which she totally was! We snuck behind a Do Not Enter Construction Zone for some of these without any hesitation on her end) :)
She has a beautiful smile and amazing eyes.

Let me tell you a little bit about Katie.
Her favorite color is black.
She is a treatment coordinator at the University of Utah Psychiatric Institute.
3 words to describe her are: Sexy, Adventurous, and Distinctive.
Something unique about Katie is her hair.
Music inspires her.
From the first moment I saw Katie, I loved her eyes. They are striking against her dark hair. Katie has got to be one of the sweetest, adventurous, level-headed, foxy, and well-rounded girl I’ve ever met. Plus, she’s training for a triathlon this September. Doesn’t she look incredible?
