Ages still needed for Celebrating Life: 38, 41, 44, 45, 46

If you are age 38, 41, 44, 45 & 46, or know someone who is, please help me with my Celebrating Life Project for the month of July. You can see all the details HERE. I am resorting to begging now :)

Thank you to everyone for your help & support for this. I couldn’t do it without all of YOU!

David Daniels – Shooting in Action

Don’t judge me.

This is from my October wedding that I am editing right now. (I am going to do better this year at editing my weddings faster no matter what!) Anyways, as I was editing today, I found this little nugget of joy. My second shooter, David, was photographing the groom. Thought it would be fun to post this shot of him in action!

P.S. I’m playing around with borders from Will Duris. What do you think?

All the Photographers

Today is a great day.

Three Winks Studio has been highlighted and showcased on the ‘All the Photographers Blog‘, a database and tool to help you find a photographer (any type of photographer, mind you). I am flattered to be featured on their site!

This project is new and still in the works, but it will someday be an amazing tool, so start using it now and get involved in recommending photographers to be to reviewed.

Check it out and don’t forget to leave comments and share the link with your friends :)

Park City Cabin

Hi everyone. This post is two-fold in purpose. I have a bride who is getting married on December 19th. Her family owns a cabin up in Park City and she wanted to do a trade. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a need for staying at a beautiful cabin. The problem is that she won’t be able to book me without the trade because money is tight.

I thought I’d just throw this out there in case there is anyone who is interested in spending 1 or more nights up in Park City. You’d just need to book it 2 weeks in advance of when you want to stay. It’s $599/night. This could be an awesome Christmas present to give to your spouse, especially if you love to ski :)

You will be getting a fantastic present for your family/spouse and you’d be helping out a bride in need. Let me know if you’re interested!

the Breast Cancer Site

A friend sent me this email:

A favor to ask, it only takes a minute….
Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on ‘donating a mammogram’ for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn’t cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here’s the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

the host

I started reading ‘the host’ a couple weeks ago, but usually could only squeeze in one chapter a night before going to bed. It was nice to be able to find more time for reading as I traveled to and from Raleigh. I pretty much read the entire second half of the novel on my flight home — I couldn’t put it down.

Stephenie Meyer writes beautifully in this book (much better, I think, than in Twilight). The character development is poignant and intriguing. She poses the question: what is human? And shows that it is not what we are on the outside, but the inside that really matters. In our lives, you can think of it as any type of label we use to define a person — race, gender, religious beliefs, prestige, annual salary, etc. What truly matters, though, is our hearts. How much we love and serve others, what we think about, and how we live from day to day.

I fell in love with this book and if you haven’t already read it…you should!

Computer Catastrophe

I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing Thanksgiving weekend! I had a great week and will be posting pictures from it shortly.

Last Tuesday, I was updating my System and ended up reformatting my hard drive, which isn’t supposed to happen. I went into the Apple Store and they ran a few tests and told me that my information was unrecoverable and that it was a strange, fluky thing for this to happen. I was devastated. Luckily, I had ALL my photos backed up on another hard drive, so you all have no need to fret. I did, however, lose all my business documents, invoices, logo, client information, passwords, and applications.

After coming home from the Apple Store on Friday, I have been working on recovering the information. I soon found that the tests at Apple were not thorough. The contents from my hard drive are coming back as one big, huge mess, but I am finding the important documents and such. Please, please be patient with me as I’m trying to sort through this mess. I have a new computer which I am getting set up and I will be getting back to editing shortly.

If you have any questions/concerns/reminders for me, please email me at stacy@threewinksstudio.com.

Out of the Office

I just wanted all of you to know that I will be out of the office Monday June 25th – Wednesday the 27th. I am attending a photography seminar in downtown Salt Lake, given by Brody Dezember and David Salamone. It’s called E2: Ever Evolving. They will be discussing everything from the photography industry to branding and workflow. Plus, we will go on some great photo shoots. I will still be checking email, but won’t be able to respond as quickly as usual.
