The night before I left for Raleigh, I had the pleasure of photographing the Derricks. It is a rare moment when all the kids and grandkids are ALL together, so we had to take advantage of this evening.

Tessa

The best thing about little kids is that they always act how they feel: they won’t smile unless they’re happy and you will definitely know when they are sad. Tessa was no exception. She is such a doll! As long as Tessa could run around and play, she was thrilled. She would spin and spin in circles until she fell over. She loved throwing rocks and climbing stairs. And, Tessa loved singing with her grandma and grandpa. There are so many images I adore from this session because they are full of exuberance, just like Tessa.

Cami and Taylor

Cami and Taylor are the reasons why I LOVE engagement sessions so much! I could’ve kept shooting all night long. From the very beginning, they were totally relaxed completely natural in front of the camera. Well, it definitely helped with the fact that Taylor has a knack for making Cami laugh with his songs that were reminiscent of Flight of the Conchords. He sang about the people in the park, how tough he looked, and anything that came to mind. Besides the humor and the laughs, these two have such a sweet, deep love for each other. Thanks for spending your Friday evening with me!

the McSweeney Family

Saturday morning, I had the privilege of photographing my neighbors, the McSweeneys. Tyler just got back into town last week from serving a LDS mission, Lauren was visiting for the week to celebrate Tyler’s return (normally she can’t stay for more than a day or two), Stephen received his Eagle Scout award, and Lindsay squeezed in our shoot before her soccer responsibilities.

They are a busy family, but so much fun. They are such great neighbors and I’m glad that I had the chance to photograph their family. Oh, I almost forgot to mention David, the exchange student from Peru who has barely been with them for a week. David is one of many exchange students who has lived with the McSweeneys. They are generous and excited to provide opportunities for kids from outside of the U.S.

Breanne + Riley Engagements

This afternoon was awesome! I got to spend it with Breanne and Riley, who are getting married this upcoming October. It was quite hot and humid, but luckily it was cloudy so it helped with the heat a little bit….and the clouds also made a nice, soft, beautiful light source for their engagement pictures. These two are so much fun to be with. We were all just laughing and having a blast together that time just flew by. I can’t wait to take Breanne’s bridals and I’m even more excited for their wedding day!

There are so many photos I liked, I seriously could not narrow it down anymore. Let me know what you think.
