Nichole and Jentry: the Cake, the Bouquet & Dancing

Nichole and Jentry had one of the most unique wedding cakes I have ever seen, probably because it didn’t really look like a wedding cake at all. But, it did look amazing! I mean, who doesn’t like chocolate covered strawberries?! They even put a cake topper of two skiers because they are outdoor enthusiasts. So perfect.

Next came the bouquet toss, which was quite the event, though I am baffled that only one person actually went for it. Quite a spectacular sight to behold :)

And then came the dancing. There are always such special moments between a new husband & wife as they share their first dance together, and Nichole and Jentry were no exception. The best part was the dance performance Jentry and his groomsmen put together in honor of Nichole. This was the highlight of the night and I am seriously impressed that they pulled this off. It was fantastic and seeing Nichole’s excitement over it made it even better.

Matt Moses was their DJ and I just have to say that this is our 5th time working together and he’s seriously the best DJ out there!

Nichole and Jentry: Reception Candids

I absolutely loved photographing Nichole and Jentry during their reception, as well as all their guests. What a beautiful group of people! The smiles & hugs, the adorable kids, the stylish clothes, the warm light — I was in heaven! I have to say, I loved photographing Nichole’s expressions, especially when she was excited (note the pictures of her seeing her cakes for the first time).

Nichole and Jentry

Before the reception began, Nichole and Jentry took 10 minutes away from their family, friends, and guests to take a few pictures of the two of them together. This couple seriously belongs on the cover of a magazine and the only thing that could’ve made me happier, is if we had had more time to photograph them together :)

Even though we were limited on time, you can tell these guys have awesome chemistry. Nichole has a natural, easy, flawless beauty — and Jentry is rugged, laid-back, and handsome. Stunning!

Nichole and Jentry: the details

I loved how Nichole and Jentry did their reception — it was outdoors at the beautiful Garden Park Ward. The location spoke for itself and was an incredible background for the evening’s festivities.

The details were simple, yet well thought out and really made everything look perfect. From the yellow flowers on the tables, the red canoe for gifts, the golden cage for cards, and the tiki torches lining the pathway and dance floor. Even the smoke from the grill added an incredible element as the evening sun began to set.

Nichole and Jentry: Getting Ready for the Reception

Nichole and Jentry were married on a beautiful Spring day at the beginning of June. A few rain showers came and went, but gave the sun enough time to dry out the grass and warm up the air. It was a perfect evening for an outdoor reception at the Garden Park Ward.

The light was beautiful, the mood was joyful, and the bride & groom looked impeccable! I loved watching everyone come together to set up before the reception began. The men were tying their ties, Nichole was being primped by a handful of her bridesmaids all at the same time, and dearest grandpa was even helping at the grill!

Becky and Tad: the Reception

Becky and Tad had their wedding reception in the Manchester room of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It is such a beautiful room with an incredible view of the Salt Lake City LDS temple!

Before the reception started, Becky’s two closest friends helped touch up her hair and makeup, a part which I absolutely love to photograph :)

They had a dessert bar with the most mouth-watering cakes & pies. It certainly was a delight to watch Becky and Tad greet all their guests who attended the reception. Their smiles and hugs made it apparent that they were grateful and loved everyone who came. What a joyous evening!

Becky and Tad: at the Salt Lake City LDS temple

Becky and Tad were married on a lovely Spring day at the end of May. The tulips were still out and we had a little bit of cloud coverage to keep things a little cooler. I loved all the support of family and friends who came to greet Becky and Tad as they exited the temple. Such joy, happiness, and gratitude that these two wonderful people began their new life together!

Becky had such a simple, yet completely gorgeous dress. The collar rested on her neck so perfectly and everything came together with the antique flower in her hair and exquisite bouquet of red roses. These two were so fun to photograph and I can tell they make one another SO VERY HAPPY! I meaCongratulations!
