Before Kaylie and Ben’s ceremony at the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple, we braved the cold to get some shots of them at this gorgeous, sacred temple. Kaylie was freezing but was a trooper and I bet you can’t even tell she was an ice cube.
I love all the lovely, white light that comes when photographing in the winter, surrounded by snow, and especially being next to a white, granite building. It gives everyone beautiful skin, luminous eyes, and soft features. These two should be models, I’m thinking. They have a natural grace and presence in front of the camera. I was in heaven!
Also, thanks again to Latasha for 2nd shooting with me! I’ve posted a few of her images here. I’m super grateful for her awesome photo skills and that she wanted to come shoot with me :) The first image (above right) was taken by her. I love that we could capture simultaneous moments with different angles!

Latasha photographed these lovely images above.

Latasha shot the image below and I show the one above so we have a kiss with the temple in the background and a close-up kiss. What more could I ask for?!

I love this one where Latasha photographed me photographing Kaylie and Ben! You can see what it looked like when I was taking their picture :)

I took the image on the right and Latasha took the one on the left. Again, simultaneous, beautiful moments are the BEST!

Lots of smiles and hugs were present as Kaylie and Ben exited the temple after their wedding ceremony. It’s always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day: to see newly married couples greet their family & friends. You just can’t make up the feelings of joy and happiness overflowing from everyone!
We then went to a restaurant located in downtown Salt Lake that has amazing Italian food, called Cafe Molise. It was a wonderful location for their luncheon. Plus, I loved all the different places I could photograph their rings…I may have gotten a little carried away with the ring shots… Nonetheless, it was a perfect way to end their lovely day.
Congratulations you two!

Thanks, Latasha for taking this lovely photo above!

Latahsa also took this one and I just fell in love with the light and Kaylie’s expression.

I enjoyed seeing this picture Latasha took of me as I was taking a group shot of everyone who came to the temple.

The morning of Kaylie and Ben’s wedding was quite chilly, as it was the beginning of January. We had some time before their ceremony to do a quick formals session of the two of them at the Rio Grande Train Station in SLC.
I felt like this location was perfectly fitting for their style and personalities, don’t you agree? They have such a classic, timeless look that was accentuated by this old building, its big arched windows, and dark wood trim.
And, I have to give a big shout out to Latasha who came out to Salt Lake from Tacoma to shoot with me for a week. She was awesome at holding my off-camera flash in these photos :)

Natalie and Mike sure know how to throw a reception. It was terrific! The bridesmaids looked lovely with their yellow accent color while the groomsmen looked sharp in their black tuxes. The bride & groom took the time to greet EVERY guest who came and had a long line waiting to see them from the beginning all the way to the end.
My favorite part was their bouquet and garter. Let’s face it, there’s not much excitement in catching some flowers or a garter BUT these were special: dollar bills were wrapped up in each. They were HOT items and I couldn’t resist showing the sequence of the ladies fighting to win the money flowers. Seriously an awesome idea!
They left the party as a crazy snowstorm was starting (my last wedding also had a snowstorm as they left their reception, too…) and everyone lined the exit with sparkler and bubbles. Natalie threw her coat off and revealed a Jazz jersey. She and Mike are rockin’ fans and it was such a blast to see them off :)

I have to say, the details at Natalie and Mike’s wedding reception were some of the best I have ever seen! Well, I am biased because the centerpieces were vintage cameras, old books, pictures from their formal session, with beautiful flowers to top it off. Every table was different and put together so perfectly.
I especially loved the sign-in table complete with faded postcards for the guests to write notes to the bride & groom. Natalie combined her love of photography, reading, traveling, and the early 1900s to create these magnificent decorations!
Oh, and I have to mention their amazing, delicious wedding cake made of Dunford Donuts (the best chocolate cake donuts I’ve ever eaten). I actually grew up eating these donuts, so I was delighted when I saw their cake was made out of them. Natalie and Mike have impeccable taste!

Before Natalie and Mike’s reception at the Springville Art Museum began, we took some time to photograph this glamorous couple. This was my first time to shoot at this location and I immediately fell in love with it!
A curved staircase with tall skinny windows overlooked the reception area. A Spanish-style balcony surrounded by trees made the perfect spot for our ‘secret’ pictures. And the red walls in one of the galleries was delicious! Combine the backgrounds with this gorgeous duo and BAM I’m one happy photographer :)

Natalie and Mike were married on a FREEZING, windy day in December. The Draper LDS Temple is right by the mountains, so the gusts of wind are even colder and stronger, making it feel colder than 20 degrees. Brrr!!! That didn’t phase this happy couple: you can see they are glowing & smiling from ear to ear.
Despite the chilling winter breeze, Natalie and Mike were surrounded by their loved ones as they exited the temple. Lots of hugs and laughs were shared, though everyone was in a hurry to get bundled up in their cars with warm heat blowing on their extremities.
We were able to capture some really beautiful moments of this amazing couple after the group shots were done. Such an honest, deep, happy love :)
