We shot Marissa’s bridal pictures only a couple days before her August wedding. I was glad to have a little time with her before the big day.
I loved that Marissa wanted her pictures taken at the Utah State Capitol Building: it fit perfectly with her simple yet elegant dress. Speaking of her dress, don’t you love the accent sash & flower around her waist? Her mom did that for her. I was seriously impressed!
Marissa has a knack for being in front of the camera: very natural, relaxed, and extremely beautiful.
We ventured inside for a bit to make use of the marble staircase & balustrade. We mimicked her favorite Maxfield Parrish painting. I love how it turned out. A big thanks to her mom for assisting me with my off-camera flash! We ended down at Memory Grove — the buildings there make Marissa look like a Greek goddess. So lovely.

It had been three years since I had seen this adorable family.
They greeted me as if I was family.
Zydaan and Zymaan are growing up into handsome boys, each with their individuality shining through. Zydaan is thoughtful & smart. Zymaan loves to be tickled & laugh.
And, I have to add that these women are gorgeous. With their radiant smiles & colorful saris, they look absolutely stunning.
I took these photographs in their backyard. Seriously beautiful scenery. The sun kept peeking in & out of the clouds during the session. About 30 seconds after we finished all the group combos, it started pouring rain. Talk about good timing!

I cannot express how much I love outdoor weddings. Suzanne and Seth had their reception on a beautiful July evening. The light was perfect. The temperature was perfect. The atmosphere & mood was absolutely perfect.
With pink accents for the groom, wedding party & the tables, everything looked stunning. There’s something about pink against green that always looks great. Plus, Suzanne always brightens up everything with her lovely smile & gorgeous eyes. She sure has a knack of making everyone who attended her wedding feel of her love for them.
Suzanne and Seth left the party on a scooter decorated with balloons trailing behind them. Don’t you just love their helmets? So cute!

I finally am posting my last July wedding! Don’t everyone applause at once ;)
This was such a great wedding to photograph. Suzanne and Seth have been super fun to work with, right from the get go. It was a beautiful, hot July day with blue skies in the morning and afternoon thunder clouds that cleared up just in time for the reception. (Luckily the storm didn’t affect their wedding plans)
After finishing the group photos, we had a blast walking around the Salt Lake LDS Temple photographing this happy couple.
Elegance mixed with playfulness.
Perfect.

A couple weeks ago, while I was in New York, I had the pleasure of photographing Mariah and Ryan.
Can you say AMAZING chemistry?
We started at the Grand Central Station, swarming with people coming & going, and captured this lovely couple in the midst of the hustle & bustle. It actually was hard to get shots of them looking sharp and not blurry. With my exposure slower than one second long, they had to hold still…let’s just say they preferred dancing & moving around to acting like statues. But, despite that fact, we got some amazing shots of them.
I loved how Mariah and Ryan were up for anything, letting Tara and I wander the streets of New York with them, stopping where inspiration struck us, and looking fabulous in every location.
I admit, I love the shots with all the cabs: such an iconic look :)
We even spent a little time in Times Square before the sun went down. Everywhere we went, we were surrounded by hundreds of people, but that didn’t stop this couple from ignoring the world and focusing on their love for one another. What a fun afternoon!

I have been excited to post these images of Natalie. She is one of my dearest friends from college. We meet up often to talk about photography, our lives, our hopes & dreams (haha, that sounded pretty cheesy). But it’s true. Natalie plays an important role in my life, especially in photography.
I am always honored when she asks me to take pictures of herself or her family.
For this session of Natalie, we drove around together to find some new locations. Bright, bold, and colorful was the look I was going for. I think it offsets her gray dress perfectly. Plus, I absolutely love her hairstyle. So stylish and sexy!
Let me know which ones are your favorites :)

I was excited to photograph Erin and Tyler on my recent trip back East. Erin was referred by her roommate, but the crazy thing is, I lived in LA when Erin did! We had briefly met a couple times and only after ‘meeting’ her again in person in DC did I realize I already knew her. Small world, eh?
Back to the good story.
Erin and Tyler both kept asking me ‘What should I do in the pictures?’ ‘What do I need to know?’ Question after question. I kept reassuring them that it was no big deal, that I would tell them where to stand and what to do, but that I mostly just wanted them to have fun & be themselves.
As you can see, these two were phenomenal! I love how they interact with each other.
Lots of real laughs.
Lots of smiles.
Lots of tender moments.
I couldn’t be happier with this session….I have oh so many favorites…and had a very difficult time narrowing them down….I could have kept shooting them all night….except the neighborhood locals thought we were crazy….and then it got too dark so I had to stop taking pictures….sigh…
I hope you all enjoy. Let me know what you think!
P.S. Aren’t Erin’s shoes to DIE FOR? I absolutely love them :)
