I had the pleasure & opportunity to photograph an event last week where Florence Jacobsen was granted the Junius Wells Award. There were quite a few big names that attended including President Thomas S. Monson, Elder Boyd K. Packer, Elder M. Russell Ballard, Chieko Okazaki, and Ruth Todd.

Florence has had an extraordinary life and I’m going to say this right here & now: I want to be like her. She stayed true to what she believed in, she devoted her life to serving others, she is full of love & charity to all, and she looks incredible. I doubt you would be able to guess her age because she looks fantastic! Some of the things she accomplished for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that she helped save & restore the Lion House and worked on the interiors of the Manti Temple. She is a doer and put all her heart into everything. Plus, Florence is extremely humble & grateful.

Florence greeted everyone with a hug, smile, and held their hand as she spoke to them. Although she was the one being honored, she made everyone know that they meant something to her. What a truly incredible woman and what a wonderful opportunity for me to photograph her big night :)
