Libby and Joe: the Ceremony

Well, the rain kept coming…and having their hearts set on an outdoor wedding, Libby and Joe decided to do away with the backup plan and have their dream wedding outside: rain or not.

I’m not gonna lie, shooting out in the rain (not just drizzle rain, but coming down pretty good rain) is quite challenging. My cameras were both covered to protect them, so it was difficult to access everything with the same ease and comfort that I’m used to. Plus, for a while I was wearing my hood to protect my head…that didn’t last very long because it kept covering up my left eye, making it difficult to see. Basically, my head was soaked, my knees & feet were soaked from kneeling in the wet grass, and my glasses were covered in rain drops. Note to self: wear contacts if it might rain. But, enough about me.

Libby and Joe had a beautiful ceremony. They had a special program, complete with an Aztec poem (correct me if I’m remembering wrong) about a tree, which they added soil and water to together. They had close family and friends participate as well. I loved all the umbrellas and huddling going on. What a memorable day!

P.S. David assisted me and was a tremendous help both outside and in. He’s an excellent photographer I was fortunate enough to have shoot with me. Thanks David!

WOW! It’s all I can say. To capture the intimate moments in such severe weather takes dedication and concentration to detail. You are the best…..

I think the umbrellas add such a fun touch. I am sure it was not what they were hoping, but I think they turned out beautiful.
