Salt Lake Wedding and Portrait Photography

Words cannot express how excited I am to share these photos with you all. I was thrilled when Annie told me she & Joe wanted to have her bridals taken out at the salt flats. It’s a good an hour and a half from Salt Lake City, so it takes impressive vision and fortitude from anyone who appreciates the beauty of the salt flats enough to have their bridals taken here ;)
When we arrived, it was 95 degrees. The wind was still.
About 30 minutes in, the storm that had been lingering over the West mountains came with a vengeance. We had to race back to the car to avoid being blown away. After hanging out in the car for an hour, we realized the wind was not going to stop anytime soon. Since we’d already driven all the way out here, we decided to brace ourselves and get some sweet shots of Annie & Joe in the gorgeous sunset.
I love the brilliant oranges, purples, reds, and rich dark blues. The sky was nothing but incredible. I also can’t get over how awesome the wind was: the movement and energy in these images cannot be replicated. What an amazing session. Thanks guys for toughing out the unpredictable elements!

This was taken inside the car while waiting for the storm to blow over.

Stacy,
Once again I am super impressed with your pictures! Wow you got some great shots. The sky looks amazing with all the colors. Plus the brides dress is amazing. I have never seen a wedding dress like that, but I love it!

oh my gosh…i love these. Not only because the bride reminds me of my friend Sarah soooo much, but because i love your pictures that you take at the Great Salt Lake. I wish we would have gone out there. I also love the pictures that you took in the wind and the sunset. How amazing is that? Beautiful!!
Thanks Meredith and Meagan. It means a lot to have my 'brides' still checking out my blog & leaving me awesome comments. You both rock :)

Gorgeous composition and so happy that Mother Nature helped create picture perfect background – it makes for a truly unique portrait. Congrats!

The pictures are amazing, the exposure and location. WOW! Memorable is all I can say. Thank you for sharing.
The bride is ethernal! I absolutley LOVE her dress and smile; and her hair. The beautiful location was chosen… but I think the weather was God’s nod of approval for this couple… I mean really – the sky is in bloom! They look so much in love. Thanks for posting these.

These are gorgeous! Although, I can’t help but to cringe at the thought of your camera in all that sand! But the photos are well worth it!
Ha! If you only KNEW the places my camera has been….they're pretty tough. (knock on wood)
