Salt Lake Wedding and Portrait Photography

Photographed

A couple weeks ago, I had the pleasure of visiting Justin Hackworth’s studio down in Provo, Utah. He had come to my studio a few weeks before and I promised him that the next time I was down South, I would stop by.

Justin is an incredible photographer. He uses natural window light for most of his portraits and creates very relaxed images. He was kind enough to photograph me, even though I always feel a little awkward. We were able to talk about our studios and share insights into how we do things. It’s pretty awesome to talk to other photographers and see how they run their show. He is also the inspiration for my Celebrating Life portrait series. Thanks for everything!

And, you should all stop by Justin’s 30 Strangers Exhibit tomorrow, June 2nd.
Here are the details:
July 2nd, 6-9pm
1 East Center Street #215
Provo, UT

I’m definitely not going to miss this one and you shouldn’t either.

Which one do you like the best? I need outside opinions here…

Justin Hackworth is awesome! Is this you? The color in the eyes are stunning

I’d vote for the third photo, the first B&W.

okay dear I will give my opinion on what image I like best. It is really hard to say but….but either the top or the bottom. I like how both of them seem not too posed. They just seem…well taken. So that is my opinion. By the way, you are such a cutie and Justin Hackworth did an amazing job

I like the last one the best. Your eyes are amazing in the first two!

I like the composure in the second one, but I like your face in the third one. I’ve never seen pictures of you before! For being the one in the photo, you are very photogenic! :-) I wish I could have been close enough to help out with celebrating life! Believe me, I do. :-)

They are all great pictures of you. However, I like the first black and white the best.

I like the first picture best. Good colors and it has more tension or intensity to it.

Thanks for posting about his show. I came down to see it. Good photos. The expression of the different personalities of mothers, daughters, and grandmothers is surprisingly engaging. The hardness or relaxation, the gentleness or tension of the sitters is fun to look at. That is what I find interesting about your photos too.

still liking the portrait from poor yorick. It reminded me to check your blog today.

Thank you thank you

Thank you, Calvin! I'm glad you were able to make it to Justin's show. He is quite talented. And, glad you still like the portrait from poor yorick :) I hope you keep coming back to my blog. I appreciate your comments very much.

I thought I’d add a comment too!
You need a cool 15 on here :)

Hanging out with other photographers is fun… and you end up with pictures to boot
