I’ve attempted HDR a few times but haven’t received the results I wanted because there were no clouds in the sky. Moab, however, had amazing clouds. If you are unfamiliar with HDR photography, basically you take at least 3 images, all with different exposures, to create one image. The reason behind this is that there is too much contrast between foreground and sky. By utilizing HDR, you can capture the full spectrum of what our eyes see. I’ve included the ‘normal’ shots as well. Which do you prefer?

WOW! Love the HDR. I’ve been wanting to attempt it for a while now, just haven’t gotten around to it. Seriously, these are beautiful.

Good work on these! I think you really nailed the point of HDR and didn’t overdo it to the surreal stage. Well done!

Huh- that really works, doesn’t it? What a great concept, I’ll have to look into it. I was just thinking to myself last night while trying to take some pictures of the sunset, “How do I get a low enough contrast to get some of the clouds in this sunset and not black out the foreground in front of it?” I’m glad to hear there are other options out there. Great shots, and thanks for sharing!

Very cool photographs! And very awesome you are mastering the HDR.
You have such a unique view to photography. You rock!
I’m assuming the HDR ones are the first ones? I like them better.
Jessie, you totally need to try HDR. It works best when the foreground is darker than the sky and when there are clouds.
Rob, thanks. I definitely wanted a more \\'real\\' look, so thank you.
Mike, Moab loves you
Danny, thank you. Thanks for sharing your musical talents with us. Seriously, amazing guitar skills.
Chelsea, thanks for your comment. It\\'s definitely frustrating when you have a high contrast shot. You should try it. Use Photomatix software to combine your shots.
David, thanks! That means a lot coming from you. You are pretty much an HDR master, so I appreciate it very much!
And Michelle, I almost forgot! Yes, the HDR are first
So I am glad you like them better.
Nice shots, HDR wins
