I was excited when Olivia wanted me to take her headshots. She is an up-and-coming actress doing a lot with theater right now and beginning to move into the film industry.
We met on Santa Monica’s Main Street and found some colorful, simple backgrounds for her headshots. Her favorite color is green, so I tried to include it in some of the images. Olivia has dazzling eyes, gorgeous hair, and a killer smile. She loves music, cats, coffee, and the musical Wicked (to which I was thrilled because I’ve recently become a fan).
I loved getting to know Olivia and wish her the best in her acting career!

As you have guessed by the fact that I haven’t had a real post in over a week….I am swamped. I’m buried in editing, designing albums, working on a portrait website, and shooting. To give you a glimpse into the posts that I’ll have up sometime next week, here are 3 images.
The first is Olivia. I did her headshots this morning in Santa Monica. She has killer eyes!

The second image is from a day trip I took down to San Diego on Tuesday to La Jolla Beach (I’m hoping to get some HDR images from the caves down there).

And this third image is from a documentary called Guerrilla Gardening that I shot film stills for this last Sunday.

I am spending the day in San Diego today. Yay for a day off
Stay tuned because I’ll have some awesome photos to post from my adventures PLUS I have tons of images from a documentary film called Guerrilla Gardening that you won’t want to miss.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Don’t forget to pinch someone who’s not wearing green

I loved hanging out with Libby and Joe last week at their Engagement Session. These two have such great senses of humor! They spent 3/4 of the time teasing and laughing with each other and the other 1/4 of the time they were just enjoying each others’ company. Joe loves to kiss Libby and Libby loves to let him do it.
I have to thank them for being so patient as it took me longer than usual to get these up on the blog. I hope they’ll forgive me since I put up a few more than usual….you’ll forgive me? Thanks guys!

I shot Libby and Joe’s engagement session a few days ago and I haven’t had time to edit them all for a proper blog post. So….I have this one awesome shot to hold you all over.
P.S. I’m driving to LA tomorrow and I’ll be there for 3 weeks. If anyone is looking ahead for a Spring photo session in Utah, I will be back the last weekend of March (and possibly into the first week of April) and also near the end of April. Don’t let this whole 2-city thing scare you
I’m very flexible in my scheduling and as long as I can get 2-3 shoots in a weekend, I’ll come up. Be looking at your calendars so that I can fit you in

I don’t actually know the real name to these cookies because I got this recipe from my friend Jeanette way back in high school and I’ve just always called them ‘Jnet’s Vegan Cookies’.
But, if you are craving a healthy, delicious snack, then you should try these! They are seriously addicting and I can’t get enough of them.
I actually made them for my drive back to LA tomorrow. It’s going to be a fun drive
1/2 T canola oil
1 1/2 T warm water
3/4 c brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1 well smashed banana (ripe)
1 t vanilla
1 1/2 c flour
1 t baking soda
1 t cinnamon
3 c quaker oats
Heat oven to 375.
Mix ingredients in order (I mix every time I add in something new).
Use ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 6-9 minutes until it’s starting to turn a light brown.
Cool 1 minute on baking sheet & then move onto cooling rack.
Store slightly covered.
Hope you enjoy!

Amanda and Jason went up to Park City during the Sundance Film Festival last year for their third date.
We thought it was a fitting place for their engagement session. It was only 20 degrees outside when we began the shoot. Poor Amanda was freezing, but man did she look gorgeous and stylish! I love her polka dot skirt and red heels. Luckily the sun was out, so it made it a little more bearable (at least I thought it did).
Congratulations on your engagement!

I recently came upon the song Blindsided by Bon Iver.
The more I listen to it, the more I want to play it.
I love the simple guitar melody, almost haunting in its beauty.
It has a melancholy to it that is palpable and intense, quickly immersing me into a state of deep thought & contemplation.
This is the song I share with you on this Sunday night.
