I have to say that cutting the cake is an exciting part of the evening for me. It’s always fun to see how each of my couples will feed each other their wedding cake: some daintily place the piece into their new companion’s mouth with such care, while others enjoy shoving it in. Kristalee and Trevor were the latter — and it was awesome.
The night ended with sparklers and big snowflakes for an unforgettable goodbye as they left for their honeymoon. Congratulations!

I just love the beautiful decorations and details that were at Kristalee and Trevor’s wedding reception. The best part, though, was the hot chocolate bar. Steaming hot chocolate, peppermint sticks, hazelnut and peppermint syrups, and marshmallows galore. Enough of everything to warm up cold fingers and toes
And, I don’t think I’ve mentioned this in an earlier post, but the small piece of wood with the rings resting on top is very special. Trevor carved it and designed a beautiful, ornate setting inside the log that he placed Kristalee’s engagement ring in for the proposal. Very romantic. Very charming.

I LOVED the location of Kristalee and Trevor’s reception. It was at the Salt Lake Hardware Building: beautiful exposed brick walls, amazing architecture, and exquisite decorations (designed by the mother-of-the-bride). Even though at least half of their guests couldn’t make it because the roads were terrible with the blizzard, it was a memorable evening, enjoyed by all.

Like I said in the previous blog entry, a gigantic snow storm came in the afternoon of Kristalee and Trevor’s wedding. But, all their friends and family who went to the temple survived with flying colors! The luncheon, held at Tucanos at the Gateway, was filled with hugs, laughter, and a few tears as each of their siblings and some close friends spoke about the bride and groom. What a wonderful celebration to be a part of

Boy was I glad that we took Kristalee and Trevor’s pictures before their ceremony because a HUGE storm came during lunch and lasted through the night. Despite the chilly breeze, it couldn’t have been better. Krista and Trevor were a blast to photograph and didn’t mind being cold at all
I loved watching them interact and enjoy one another. They have great chemistry and I’m so excited for them as they begin this new stage of their lives together!

Doesn’t Karen have amazing hazel eyes and a beautiful smile? I just love her natural look and feel. She told me she gets nervous in front of the camera, but I think she needs to realize how relaxed and real she was for me! And, I just adore the variety of scarves she brought — it’s amazing how such a simple thing can make such a difference.
Let me tell you a little bit about Karen. She is currently a software tester, but would love to be an artist full time. She is a painter mostly, but also does printmaking and sculpture. A funny side note: at the end of Karen’s session, we found out that she just got a studio space where I have my studio! She just barely moved in this month. Isn’t it a small world? Karen is intelligent, vibrant, and she’s got great style. Thanks Karen, for a great session!

After seeing Lacey tromp through mud in her 4″ heels, bear the chilling winter breeze in a sleeveless dress, and sit on a pile of logs, I dubbed Lacey my # 1 tough bride. Never did I hear a complaint, shiver, or sigh. She was awesome! I am so excited for her wedding in a couple of weeks

Durgin is turning one, which means it’s time for the traditional, Jones family one-year photo. With his Radio Flyer and big smile, Durgin was the perfect subject. I love his expressions!
After photographing Durgin, we went to a park complete with old-school swings and a merry-go-round. These kids are so stinkin’ cute. They made me feel like we were all best friends the whole time we were together. Thanks Jones family!
