Don’t you just LOVE Sarah’s last name? And that’s just it, she really is a joy to be around. Sarah is genuine, thoughtful, smart, and endearing. Being around her is relaxing and enjoyable!
Let me tell you a little bit about her.
She has lived in many places, including New York and Montana (and Salt Lake, of course)
She loves cooking, gardening, and animals, including small creatures around her home
She is clever and open minded.
Her favorite indulgence is brownies a la mode.
Thanks Sarah! You were a JOY to work with

I love the small speck of brown in her rich blue eyes.

…the biannual Studio Opening at Poor Yorick’s is TOMORROW NIGHT!
This is a great opportunity to get out and see some great art from photographers, painters, sculptors, and many amazing Utah artists. Here are the details:
Friday September 26th from 6-10pm
Saturday September 27th from 1-5pm
Poor Yorick’s Studios 126 W Crystal Ave (2590 S) in Salt Lake City. You get there by driving on West Temple and turning West on Crystal Ave.
My studio is in A3, which is the East end of the building. Come see some new photography on my walls, PLUS I have 6 canvases for sell this year, which will be at various locations in the hallways.
I would LOVE to see anyone that can make it
This is a triptych of some lemon trees in Italy, printed on 3 10×20 canvases.

These are sunflower pictures from Hawaii on a 20×20 metallic canvas.

And, this one turned out to be my favorite! Also a 20×20 metallic canvas, which looks amazing with the green and purple. Seriously.

While I was in LA this last weekend, I assisted my friend Corbin on the set of his film ‘Flower Girl.’ Corbin is getting a masters degree at USC in film. He wrote the script, prepared the set & props, casted the actresses, and is the director. Nick is his cinematographer and they’ll switch roles during the second half of the semester.
Anyways, these are some stills I took during the shoot. I wish I’d been able to take more, but they were more in need of an extra hand rather than having me take photos
I almost forgot…the actresses were so fun to meet! Tamara Zook is playing Abigail — the flower girl. Lauren Evans and Kathy Harmening are Alice and Ida — the 2 sisters who are the antagonists. Miranda Kessler is their makeup artist (and I totally left her business card in the pair of pants I was wearing and accidentally put it through the wash today, otherwise I’d link you to her site….sorry Miranda!)

I am in LA right now and won’t be back until Monday night. I’ll have access to internet sporadically, but I will return all emails eventually. Also, be patient if you leave a message on my phone
Thanks!

Meagan and David had an outdoor ceremony this last Saturday morning. It could not have been a more perfect day: the light, the weather, the beautiful couple and their close family and friends all made it a spectacular day. Being able to watch Jana (Meg’s sister) do her hair and makeup, and be a part of ALL the excitement was a joy for me. I loved every minute of their special day. Thanks so much Meagan and Dave for having me there!
And, thanks to my friend Natalie for coming out to shoot the ceremony with me

It was great to be able to spend a little bit of time alone with Meagan and Dave after their ceremony. There’s something about a bride and groom on their wedding day that can’t be replicated! The smiles, love, laughter, joy, and happiness is incredible to be around. (It’s definitely one of the reasons why I love shooting weddings so much).

Orange and green were Meagan and Dave’s colors (Meagan’s favorites). There is something about bright orange flowers on a beautiful day at the end of the summer and the beginning of fall. The warm, vibrant shades look incredible against the cool, rich blue sky and dark green leaves. Loved, loved, loved the simple yet elegant details of their wedding!

Meagan and David’s reception was fabulous. They were able to greet and spend time with each of their friends and family who came to see them. Instead of spending money on a live band or a DJ, Dave and Meg had their family members serenade the crowd, including Dave’s brother and Meagan’s grandmother. You could just feel the love all around!
Plus, their three-tiered cake was incredible and the key-lime layer with cream cheese frosting was delectable

It’s been a while since I’ve posted New Music….so here it is! I’m really digging Mates of Sate. They’ve got a funky style that is versatile, entertaining, and easy on the ears. Blue and Gold Print is one of my faves, although I love the whole album.
I couldn’t get the player to show up in my blog, so click on this link to hear the full song.
