Doesn’t Juan have amazing hair? He says it’s about time to cut it off because of the summer heat.
Juan is an incredibly talented musician skilled at the guitar, bass, ukulele, piano, and the kazoo. He’s also brilliant with programing (he’s the one who masterfully programmed my new blog). Although he’s proficient with electronics, he still prefers not to have a cell phone — go figure. Sandra, his wife came along and helped carry his guitars and combed his hair when necessary. They are a blast to hang out with!

Friday the 13th is my favorite day of the year. I don’t know why, but I look forward to this day. I am the opposite of the superstitious.
I find it interesting that there is a word for having fear of Friday the 13th: paraskavedekatriaphobia. I’m actually curious about all the phobias they have names for…and I wonder what ones I have. Sometimes I think I have Androphobia (the fear of men) ;). And who doesn’t have Coulrophobia (a fear of clowns)? I definitely don’t have Genuphobia (fear of knees) because I like knees and I think they’re important. If anything, I have fear that I won’t have knees when I’m older, but that’s another story.
Anyways, going back to this special day….I have been looking forward to it for some time now. This is the only day that we get a Friday the 13th this year — in 2009 there will be 3. Today has already been a great day. I’m already feeling better than I did last night. I got to meet with Meredith and go over her October wedding plans (I’m so excited!). I get to edit pictures of Juan….which will be posted soon. And, I am going to wash my car — the weather is finally nice enough.

Bitter. Sweet.
The 2 words that describe my feature in our local magazine, The Avenues Exchange. I was thrilled when I was contacted in April about being the Featured Artist of the Month. The article was great (written by Wendy Smith) and I’ve already received raves from all my neighbors who read it.
But, can you see the picture of me they put on the front cover.
Yes, that is me with my eyes closed. It doesn’t appear only on the cover, either. It’s right alongside the article as well. I sent them 5 of my images to give readers an idea for the kind of photography I do — I included a range of portraits, couples, kids, and wedding to show the full spectrum — but, they only thought it necessary to show that awful photo of me. Twice.
I found this very ironic, considering I am a photographer. Hopefully I will still create some buzz and maybe even get some awesome new clients :)

My first Album Sample has finally arrived! Oh, happy day.
This album looks incredible, if I don’t say so myself… The cover is called ‘Armour’ because it’s a photo printed onto a piece of metal — shiny & sophisticated. The pages lay flat and it’s a perfect way to tell your wedding day story.

This week is a tribute to Iron and Wine who has amazing, mellow, beautiful melodies and lyrics. Although I enjoy many of their songs, my all time favorite is The Trapeze Swinger. It’s 9 minutes long and every time it ends, I want to play it again.
