Vanessa and Cole – International Peace Gardens

Tonight, I shot for my first time at the International Peace Gardens. What a beautiful, fun place! There are so many different countries represented with beautiful landscaping, architecture, and spring blossoms. But, to get to the real point of this blog entry….

I had the opportunity to photograph Vanessa and Cole’s engagement pictures. These guys have such awesome chemistry together! They love making each other happy, doing anything that involves spending time together, and traveling. I also love how these two praise and compliment one another. I had such a wonderful time watching them interact while I captured these delightful moments. I am so excited for their wedding coming up on 07-07-07. (Also stay tuned for Vanessa’s bridals)

Here is their fantastic SLIDESHOW with tons more photos!

~ My Cousins ~

On Saturday, some of my cousins (and 3 of my siblings) met up for lunch and catching up. We come from a HUGE family and usually only see each other at family events. There are quite a few of us from the ages of 18-30, so we’ve been trying to make a better effort to get together. Here are a few pics I took while we were chatting.

Today, I am trying something new. I have uploaded bigger photos. This should be something you will see from now on. How do you like them big?

Brilliant Machine on Wheels

Ok, so I know that was a lame mnemonic device (I even had to look that word up to spell it correctly), but I was trying to be creative ;)

Last night, we took pictures of this BMW for my friend. He’s sadly going to sell it, as he is off to grad school in a few months and needs something a little cheaper for his pocketbook. I guess brilliant minds can’t afford brilliant cars. That is, until he’s loaded down with degrees and enlightening the next generation of college students, he’s going to have to settle for something a little more practical.

He will use these image for his online ad. If anyone is interested in it, shoot me an email, and I will pass along his info.

50 years and counting…

Meet the Shields Family. They’ll make you feel right at home.

Yesterday, Maria celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary with her husband. All her children and close friends gathered together for this special occasion. Some of them hadn’t seen each other for 8 years. For others, it had been 25 years! What a glorious day full of laughter, hugs, reminiscing, bonding, playing, eating, and pictures. I was privileged to be a part of their festivities.

Here are some of my favorites. To see more, watch this SLIDESHOW!

A Closer Look

First off, I want to wish you well and I hope you survived Friday the 13th!

Today was a beautiful Saturday: perfect for a drive up the canyon. I went up Big Cottonwood Canyon to check out the snow levels, scout out locations, and to enjoy my car ;) As usual, the immense cliffs dotted with fir trees was overwhelmingly beautiful. Instead of focusing on this familiar aspect, I decided to look at it from a different perspective. Here are a few shots of some close ups. It’s amazing to me how breathtaking this world can be from any view, no matter how wide or narrow your perspective.

Debonair David

Yesterday, I shot David’s senior portraits. He was able to squeeze me in between his flights to California and Oregon, as he is visiting potential University’s for next fall. David has been on the debate team at Judge for the past 4 years. He’s bright, intelligent, and a great conversationalist. He spent this last summer in Germany and introduced me to a German band called Farin Urlaub, which is the music I used for his SLIDESHOW. David is so well-rounded and will be very successful in his life. After taking his ‘nice’ pictures, we went up above his house where he bikes with his family. It’s a beautiful view of the Salt Lake Valley and the Great Salt Lake. I think we got some great shots with him and his bike — you can tell he loves it up there! Make sure to watch the SLIDESHOW.

Easter Bliss

The best part about Easter is dying eggs with bright, spring colors. This morning, we decorated eggs with my nephews. Even James dyed some, although he thought the eggs were balls and would throw them into the cups, splashing dye everywhere! Will thought it was fun to mix the colors to make new colors. They made a mess! As you can see, James got a little teary-eyed at the end, but he’s still so adorable and cute.

Double your Pleasure, Double your Fun

Do you remember when I took pictures of the twins last August? (click HERE for a reminder) Well, it was time to take their picture again, since they turned 1 this last January. These boys LOVE to move! We let them play and crawl around for a while at first and when it was time to take the ‘family picture’ they would have NOTHING to do with it. Plus, they have been sick the last couple of weeks, so it broke my heart to see them cry and then their nose would start running, too.

Despite the tears, I love photographing these boys. They both have such great facial expressions and we couldn’t ever get them to cooperate and do the same thing at the same time (I think they did it on purpose). Now, unless I get a good look at the boys, it’s hard for me to tell them apart, so I have to memorize what color they’re wearing. I dare you to guess which one is which in the black and white ones ;) And, you have to look at their shoes, because they are simply darling!

Enough blabbing, take a look at my favorites. And WATCH THE SLIDESHOW! (It moves fast, so you might have to watch it twice)

Amazing Amy

Ok, so Amy is stunningly beautiful, exceptionally smart, and an amazing dancer. I had the privilege of photographing her this afternoon before her dance competition in the evening. This was seriously so much fun! Someday, she will be a famous dancer and I can say: yeah, I took her pictures once ;) Well, here are some of my favorites from the day. What do you think? There’s also a fun slideshow. Click HERE to watch.
